| With the addition
of the GDL™ 30/30A weather
data receiver and a partnership with XM WX Satellite
Weather, Garmin is proud to bring real-time graphical
weather data coverage of the United States (except Alaska
and Hawaii) directly to Garmin marine chartplotters.
For the first time, mariners can access real-time
weather information for the United States directly
on the GPSMAP®
3210C or GPSMAP
3206C using
the GDL 30 — no need for a separate PC interface.
The Garmin GDL 30 black box receiver is completely
waterproof and part of the new Garmin Marine Network,
a plug-and-play system that puts GPS, weather, sonar,
radar and other important data literally at a boater's
fingertips.
XM WX Satellite Weather is the same leading, analytical
weather technology and data that is provided to television
meteorologists across the United States. It relays
a continuous transmission of 20 different types of
graphical weather information that can be overlaid
on the chartplotter, including:
- Current conditions
- City forecasts
- NEXRAD Radar with precipitation type
(animated, high resolution)
